NCAA Football 06 Revival PS2 Cover

Here's a cover I made randomly using a template I found online.

Major releases: NCAA Football rosters for PS2/PSP V3, Conversion Porting Tool v0.30, and Conf Realignment Mod v1.7

A major bug was discovered recently by Cuberoster and with the help of Harry97, I've updated every single roster for NCAA Football on PS2 (06/11) and PSP (07/10) to version 3.0. This bug fixes skill ratings and attributes for the entire roster. I also fixed a bug when starting a new dynasty in PS2 and FAU/FIU not having any rosters. In addition, I've updated the PS3 Porting tool with the new conversion table and formulas, and updated the demo dynasties in the Conference Realignment mod. All updates can now be found in the Antdroid Download section!

NCAA Football Ratings improvements and Roster Editor coming soon...

Well, it's been brought to my attention that there were some really low strength and awareness ratings on many players in the NCAA Football rosters. I reviewed the comments and definitely agree with the commenter(s)... but then I went deeper and discovered that basically every attribute skill rating needs tweaking. Basically, I did not do a thorough enough job of reviewing all the ratings and how they are calculated. I made an assumption that the rating was a number (68) added to the value in the raw database to get you the rating, which is fairly accurate for the last 15 or so upper ratings, but below say 84, the ratings do not follow that formula. It's a weird formula after that that's not simple but affects player ratings quite a bit. Anyway, I think I have the thing nailed down now, and I created a lookup table of every rating 0-100 and what the database value should be. I'm still trying to see if the game will accept this new value or not, as I'm having issues ...

NCAA Football Realignment Mod v1.6 released! PS2 and PSP Support Now!

The PS2 conference realignment mod is now completed and seems to work pretty smoothly, even on my SCHP-75001 slim console and PSP Go as well as emulators I've tried! Hooray! The file is available in the Downloads section under PSP or PS2. Please read the README file for information on installing it. There is also two already created save files that start you as the University of Washington Huskies. You can read the instructions on how to modify the team you want to start with. This mod should be able to be used on already existing dynasties as long as you do it in the offseason AND BACKUP YOUR SAVES!

NCAA Football Conference ReAlignment Mod Pack Released [updated v1.5]

The released version of my Conference Realignment mod is now available in the Download section under NCAA Football for PSP NCAA Football 2007 (PS2 soon). You have to do a lot of manually labor though, so be prepared for frustration! In the zip will be a bunch of csv files, and a spreadsheet. It also includes an already modded save for NCAA PSP 07. It is unencrypted so you'll need to use PPSSPP to play it and/or save it encrypted. To mod your own NCAA 06 or NCAA 07 save, download Madden DB Editor 3.0. Open your save file in DB Editor and for import the csvs into the following tables in your save: BOWL - Not sure this will work with 06 yet. Study it and modify your own 06 BOWL table! CONF DIVI STTM SCHD   - Not sure this will work with 06 yet. Study it and modify your own 06 SCHD table! TSWP Then you need to open up the TEAM table in the editor. Also open up either STTM.csv or the excel spreadsheet and go to the STTM page. Now you have to manually edit the teams database CGID/DGIDs ...

NCAA Football Conference Re-Alignment Semi-Working

I've recently returned to working on modding NCAA Football 07 on PSP to re-align conferences and sub-divisions again and this time I've taken a different approach. I manually edited every single team's conference and division using DB Editor 3.0. The results are quite promising as you can see in the screenshot above and the video at the end. The screenshot shows the Big Ten Championship and Pac-12 Championship game that did not exist before, and also shows, coincidentally, three teams that were not in their respective conferences before: Rutgers, Texas A&M, and Utah! Now, a few big issues still remain: 1. This requires hex editing. You'll have to copy/paste a slew of hex over to existing franchise saves. Because this is being worked on in NCAA 07, it'll only work with probably 06, 07, and 08. There's been newer teams incorporated to FBS since then. I am going to look if I can add FCS teams over but I think that requires quite a bit more work since rosters wo...

NCAA Football 2015-16 Update for NCAA 11 on PS2

I've created a port of the 2015 rosters for NCAA Football 11 for PS2. They are now available in the File Download section. And I've created a quick demo video of the roster in action. Ignore my crappy gaming. I wasn't really trying too hard and just testing the roster. :)

PSP EA Sports Graphics Discoveries

I've finally figured out how to at least read a few graphics files buried within some other files in the NCAA PSP UMD. The screenshot above shows the Michigan Wolverines helmet which is used for the Dynasty Mode SI cover pages. It is buried in UIS_Helmets.dat file on the disc and can be opened using Madden DAT File Replacer. Once you extract all several hundred helmets, you can open it up in Console Texture Explorer and use the settings shown in the screenshot above. Graphic Offset 48 Palette Offset 16448 BPP 8 Size 128 x 128 Swizzling Enabled Here's some more photos of Helmets and Trophies:

NCAA PS3 to PS2/PSP Conversion Tool v0.20

I just added the next version of my PS3 roster conversion tool for NCAA Football. This can be found in the Files location link. Version 0.20 is a change that was necessitated to reduce the amount of system RAM required and to speed up the process of editing the actual data and formulas. The new design is broken into 4 different files: 1. PS3 extracted csv roster from Dynasty Editor. 2. PS3 Conversion XLSM -- Names and Attributes Conversion Tool 3. PS3 Output XLSM -- Conversion Tool 4.  Outputted CSV file for PSP/PS2 General Instructions: Open up a PS3 roster in Dynasty Editor and export the Player Roster to CSV. Rename this CSV file to PS3_Input.csv and Open in Excel. Open PS3_Conversion_Tool.xlsm in Excel Press SHIFT+OPT+COMMAND+N (or SHIFT+CTRL+N) in the Names Tab. This will auto convert the names to the PS2/PSP format. Now, open PS3_Output.xlsm file in Excel Press SHIFT+OPT+COMMAND+C or SHIFT+CTRL+C. This will convert the roster, save, and save as CSV. A converted CSV file will ...

NCAA PSP/PS2 - Coaching Strategy Test for Dynasties

Coaching/Strategy Test for Dynasties This is a test if anyone is willing to try it out. I created a coaching file with updated strategies and playbooks. It's also based on the NCAA 14 roster set from the community with some modifications I made to fit the 2006 base year of NCAA 07 and also to make it work with the database. This isn't for the faint of heart. File Link:  http://www.operationsports.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2048006518&postcount=67 The zip attached includes DB Editor 3.0 and the coaching file csv. First have a NCAA Dynasty save ready in unencrypted format. (You can do this with sgdeemer for PSP or by turning Encrypt Save to False in PPSSPP). Then open the data.bin file in DB Editor. Once loaded, click the COCH on the left side to load up the coach database.  Now, open the coach csv. Look for a column called PFUC. This column will have mostly all 0's. I have a 1 in one row. This row is associated with UW Huskies (Chris Peterson). Look for the right row you ...

Apple Cup Demo - Swapping Textures from Different Games

The Apple Cup is one of my favorite events I look forward to each football season. It pits the school I grew up watching, attended for a decade of my life, and constantly engage in whether professionally, or as a fan of the school's academia and athletic excellence. It also has the most awesome color choices in Purple and Gold. Anyway, I've been playing around with swapping textures such as uniforms, helmets, fields, stadiums, etc between different versions of games, which I went through a little bit the other day in my guide.  Here's some screenshots of some of the work: NCAA 07 PSP - Imported Uniforms and Helmets from NCAA 10 PSP NCAA 10 PSP - Imported Grass Textures from NCAA 07 PSP Following the texture imports, the two games look very, very similar. They still play differently a tad bit because of the gameplay differences, but visually, they both look similar, and pretty stunning I might add for a handheld console that's well over a decade old.  These screenshots a...

NCAA PSP Uniforms, Helmets, and Stadium Swapping

Here's a quick trick if you own NCAA 10 and NCAA 07 and you prefer the gameplay of NCAA 07 like I do, but want updated uniforms and helmets. This also works in Madden series as described in my guides. First dump your game onto your computer using UMDGen. Then go to the USRDIR folder of NCAA 10, and copy the entire Uniforms folder, and put that in NCAA 07 using UMDGen. Save a copy. Then you'll have a modded ISO to use, granted you need a custom firmware installed PSP or you can use an emulator like PPSSPP. For Stadiums, copy the Stadata.dat and Stadiums folder over. (note this may cause issues with field/crowd textures...) Here's some screenshots to show it all off: Original NCAA 07. This must have been prior to Oregon experiments. NCAA 07 with NCAA 10 Uniforms - The Unis before the Wings NCAA 07 Original - Miss St white helmets of the past. NCAA 07 with NCAA 10 Helmets - The new redder Miss State helmets

NCAA 07 PSP 2015 Video Trailer

Check out the new trailer for the 2015 updates to NCAA 07 and NCAA 10 for PSP and NCAA 06 for PS2! This new video shows a few of the new player additions, and a preview of the Apple Cup with the Washington Huskies and Washington State Cougars!

NCAA Roster Additions and Other Updates

Over the past few days I've been slowly making some changes and additions to the Files section that haven't necessarily been posted in an article here nor at one of the two forums I frequent for sports gaming. The files section, you'll find updates to: NCAA 07 PSP: Updated NCAA 2015 roster New historical rosters folder, which includes NCAA 2005-2008 rosters. I'm still trying to figure out issues with 09-11 right now. NCAA 10 PSP: Updated 2015 roster NCAA PS2: Updated 2015 roster 2010-2011 rosters NCAA PS3 to PS2/PSP Porting Tool: I have made it a universal tool now, with v0.17 uploaded. There are several fixes and accessories optimizations included. More work to come. Other stuff: I've been working with a great team of folks at Football Idiot/Operation Sports and trying to make a more modern NCAA 06/NCAA 07 game. We've got Volwalker working on playbooks and a few others working on uniform updates. I believe most of these files will port over to the two consoles ...

Porting PS3 NCAA 14 Rosters to PS2/PSP

Conversion tool version 0.25 is now released! This is a bit more automated, so please read the README for information on how to use it. Modifying PS3 to PS2 and PSP is pretty intensive because there are a good 50% or more attributes in the PS3/360 generation games versus the previous generation, some attributes are called different things, and the way they are adjusted is totally different. On top of that, you can't determine player names or the school they are associated with without a conversion tool. I am working on an Excel Workbook tool to help ease the pain. NCAA PS3/XBOX360 Roster Port to NCAA PS2/PSP (and Vita) Excel Tool Hopefully someone can use this to create a windows/osx or web-based tool to make it simpler. Here's a  LINK  to the initial editors. There's some really preliminary instructions in the NFO tab. More instruction coming later. Basic directions: Extract the unencrypted Roster save from your PS3 or XBOX 360 roster you want to port. Using Xanthanol'...

NCAA PSP/PS2 DB Viewer v0.1

PS2/PSP DB Viewer version 0.1 Download  Here  This is an Excel Workbook that currently lets you input a CSV file that you've exported from DB Editor and translates into something less foreign. There's a few worksheets within the workbook. 1. Input In this worksheet, you copy or import the CSV file here, starting at Column A1! I already pasted a Named NCAA 11 PS2 roster as an example. 2. Conversions This worksheet is a bunch of conversion tables for making things easier to read. It's used heavily in the Viewer. 3. Viewer The Viewer worksheet takes all the inputted data and converts all the numbers into letters and then into actual player names. It also converts ratings from cryptic land to a traditional 0-100 rating system. It'll also translate the student's college, spit out the college ID, give you his position and his class status. Sorting is enabled. Editing is not because I don't want you to ruin the formulas. You can always SAVE AS CSV or XLS to edit. Howev...

NCAA 2007 Conference Re-Alignment Test Part 2

I got the teams in the right places, and the conferences with the right names now. Now how do I get it to not crash after Week 1 simming? I got every team assigned to their current day conference, renamed all the conferences and sub-divisions. This isn't an easy task for someone not experienced with editing though. Required hex editing and importing csv files and modding your PSP. I had to change a dbtable column from a large binary to a small bit because dbeditor crashes when loading two binaries in the TEAM db in dynasty save. This could be an issue. Not sure. I'm also looking at other tables now to see if there are dependencies to the realigned conferences/divisions/teams.

NCAA PSP Conference Realignment Trial

Tried to do a mod to NCAA 07 on PSP last night where I updated teams for NCAA conference realignment. As you can see in the video, the Conference names and Sub-Divisions show up correctly, however the teams do not correctly populate. I opened up a Dynasty and modified the following databases: CONF - Conference IDs DIVI - Division IDs STTM - what looks to be Teams -> Conf/Division IDs The STTM database, for whatever reason, does not allow me to change the Division ID number above "14" which is really odd because the original database has teams with IDs of "15."

I don't think anyone has done this yet. I just picked up a used PSP recently as well as a PSTV so I could get my NCAA fix on (only have a PS4 console now). I had to do A LOT of digging and a A LOT of experimenting, but my success of porting Madden PC rosters to Madden PSP sure helped a lot. Anyway, I found the amazing Operation Sports Community NCAA 10 roster for PS2 and ported it over to PSP. The file is attached to this post. Just extract it and put the folder into your /PSP/SAVEDATA folder. NCAA 2015-2016 Update! I will first like to thank Vikesfan059 for permission to use and port over his team's amazing work on their NCAA 14 PS3 roster. This wouldn't have even been a ...
